I am currently working with phytoplankton and optical data from 600 lakes in Canada, part of the Canadian Lake Pulse Survey. I was in charge of the optics measurements and sampled ~100 lakes, but also participated in sediment coring. I developed a new way to measure particulate absorption and applied it to the Canadian lake samples.

I am currently working with data from microbial mats from the Canadian arctic and with polar cyanobacteria cultures. I had the extreme luck to visit Ward Hunt Lake, the northenmost lake in the Canada and the Americas (lat: 83.1 N) where I installed autonomous sensors in a mooring to monitor the impacts of climate change in this rapidly changing environment. I also performed field work on the arctic wetlands of Resolute Bay, Canada.

I am currently a part of a grant-winning project to calibrate fluorimetric  sensors for cyanobacteria measurements accross Uruguayan waters. I also extensively worked in the Rio Negro and Santa Lucia rivers of Uruguay, the two main internal rivers of the country.

I am currently working with hyperspectral radiometry installed on the autonomous floats BGC-ARGO towards the elucidation of the chlorophyll fluorescence quantum yield. I also participated in the ocean observation campaign that visited the DYFAMED point, a point of 3200 m of depth situated 30 km off the coast of Nice, France.
